Aliens say a lot about a piece of media. I have found that there are two paths alien media usually takes, ESPECIALLY in movies and tv. The two paths are hope and dread. We see aliens as symbols of hope and salvation in movies like; 'the arrival', 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' 'Superman' (pretty much any of them), 'Project Hail Mary' and many more. Movies that use aliens to represent dread and other human issues include; the 'Alien' movies (duh), 'Independence Day', 'The Thing', 'A Quiet Place', and many more.
